I am a Consultant Paediatric Intensivist and Chair for Health Informatics and Digitalisation. I hold an honorary NGO role as Director of Child Health for Midland Doctors, providing Charitable healthcare to Children. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health and a member of societies including Paediatric Critical Care Society (UK) and the Society for Critical Care Medicine (USA). I am a UK/USA/Australian-trained with over 28 years of experience in frontline child healthcare, including more than two decades managing critically ill children in ICU settings. I graduated in 1992 from the University of Aberdeen and have undertaken specialist training and clinical work across Australia, the UAE, the UK, and the USA. I hold a PhD in genomics and artificial intelligence from Edinburgh Napier University, with a focus on sepsis, and have published and co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles in critical care, paediatrics, and translational medicine. I am particularly interested in the transcriptomic and molecular signatures of sepsis, the mechanisms of organ injury in critically ill children, and the interface of digital health in intensive care settings. Taught Medical Students, developed Curricula, managed Msc Students, Postgraduate Examination Teaching Over the course of my career, I have been deeply involved in academic instruction, mentorship, and supervision across multiple institutions. I have delivered lectures, workshops, and clinical teaching sessions in paediatric intensive care, neonatal and child transport, resuscitation, sepsis, and infection management. I also mentor junior doctors, fellows, and research students, helping guide their clinical practice, academic writing, and case management.
